... HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT PDT SUNDAY NIGHT...
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A HIGH SURF ADVISORY... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT PDT SUNDAY NIGHT.
SURF IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE TO 5 TO 7 FEET WITH SETS TO 8 FEET FROM A LARGE SOUTH SWELL WITH A PERIOD OF 20 SECONDS SATURDAY. THE PERIOD WILL DROP TO 18 SECONDS BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON. STRONG GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL MAKE FOR BLOWN OUT CONDITIONS AT TIMES SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN THE ADVISORY AREA... PRODUCING VERY STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.

So a new swell is headed our way
but first we wait
the storm that spawned these wave is already gone
the storms energy is in transit
no deposit no return
sort of like light from some distant start that died out
a millennia ago
it's light still headed our way

so we sit and ride the waves of our breath

up the incoming tide of the inhale

a pause at the top

out the outgoing tide of the exhale

waiting for the next swell
in transit
