this morning
the temperature
was
38 degrees
38 is a good number
for a players
jersey
but for a morning low temp
it's distasteful, repugnant
and dare I say
improper
for the socal coast
As I pulled my wife's car
up to the de-icing station
well not really
I don't have a de-icing station
at my house
BECAUSE WE LIVE ON THE COAST!
but as I tried to unkink
the hose
to squirt the car off
(I refuse to buy an ice scrapper

I glanced toward the house
And caught a glimpse
of the cat
snug and warm
in his full length
fur coat
and I could
see
He was laughing
