Another spill

a sudden die off 

the fauna and flora

dies and smells  

not like dead fish and birds

like you would expect

but a headache inducing vapor

with a smell all its own

that's crude oil

it comes with a lot of gas

the oil globs sink of sulfur 

and the little balls of oil

stick to everything

that's real bad if you 

are a bird or a fish

or plankton 

The prevailing winds and swell

move the bodies to land

where they are carted away

by a contractor

who sends an invoice

that's paid on the thirteenth

and that's the end of it
