Remnants of Rachel - my new band name

may give of us the honor

of sharing her 

last few drops of

tropical moisture

with us

(sun-mon)

Rachel was heading

northwest

following the hippy trail

of all those other 

summer hurricanes

that head off to Hawaii

and water the pakalolo

I expected this to be

Rachel's fate as well

then she altered course 90 degrees to starboard

interesting yet odd

so I sit

halfway between 

LA and SD

halfway between

inhale and exhale

breathing waiting

for the rain

that may be yet to come
