You could do worse
I've got a new book
waiting for the snow to start
my tea has gone cold
If you have read any of my drivel know that I am just aimless wandering thru the early 21 century
leaving verbal graffiti on the walls of Face Book in Helvetica Neue. There is no theme (at least 23 Breaths had a theme) but still I get bored. Sometimes I stop writing for a day a month or a year until the words start flowing my head fills up and I connect a cable from behind my ear to the input port on my laptop so these bits have somewhere to go and can stop bouncing around in my head. Sometimes I just pivot and try an write Haiku. The strict form is three lines of five syllables seven syllables five syllables and throw in a seasonal reference. Sounds easy but it's not. Even if you meet the form requirements the results can be disappointing, like in my example above. I'm just stoked I got the 5-7-5 thing and the rain counts as a seasonal reference. If you want to read some good haiku start with Basho. Everyone starts with Basho. You could do worse.
