High Summer

Looking for and perhaps about to find some, shade

Another summer day

late night and early morning low clouds

the ants are in the cat food 

in the news 

humans being inhumane

again

really not surprising 

as half the population

wears a tin foil hat

to keep out the science

An Apology

all those mornings

I cursed the south wind

blowing the negligible swell 

more completely out

looking forward to only

another day

at the beach

and another

night 

looking

for "the party"

that we never found

I would like to apologize

the cool south breeze 

is a fine thing

and I bow

to it
