thru the spring an into the summer

It's 5:15 pm and as dark as midnight outside

The winter solstice
has passed.
every day
we are blessed with two minutes more sunlight
(more or less depending on your latitude)
in a month that adds an hour
in two months it adds two hours
the planet wobbles

From the deep pool of calm that comes at the end of a long slow exhale
Our next breath comes to bring us thru the spring an into the summer

I haven't been sure of the day of the week
since before Christmas

It's 5:15 pm and it's darker than the inside of a cow outside
all I want is dry socks
a full belly and sleep
wake me when the
warm breeze blows
