The Last Waltz

I was flipping thru the channells the other day and came across the end of "The Last Waltz"

The Last Waltz was a concert by the Canadian rock group, The Band, held on American Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1976, at Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco. The Last Waltz was advertised as the end of The Band's touring career.

Directed by Martin Scorsese

Staring
Robbie Robertson
Rick Danko
Richard Manuel
Levon Helm
Garth Hudson

Special guests
Eric Clapton
Neil Diamond
Bob Dylan
Joni Mitchel
Emmylou Harris
Neil Young.
Ringo Starr
Paul Butterfield
Dr. John
Van Morrison
Ronnie Hawkins
The Staples
Muddy Waters
Ronnie Wood

Makes for a great road trip doubt CD. Each song in great and the bands style changes depending on who they are backing.
If surf craft were musical groups, The Band would be a surfmat. Instantly able to move from one situation to the next without looking like much in between.
In this next clip, Eric Clapton puts his guitar strap on upside down and it slips about 8 bars into the solo, Robbie jumps right in, covers for Eric and then hands the lead back. The band never misses a beat!

They got it now Robbie
