Spending more but enjoying it less?

Working overtime 

Thinking how much

Things changed

Over time

Outside-in-the-Middles

It was probably the chronic sunburn

but surfing the glass off

was always like surfing in a bathtub

a salty one 

filled

with dozens of my closest friends...

one summer but for a handful of days

the wind would quit

the wave faces

would become

sheet glass

and we would all

see how long into the

sunset after glow

we could still see

the sets coming

Another season part of another trip around 

Another 4th of July weekend

Late night and early morning

Low clouds

More people at the beach

Then I have ever seen

All waiting to catch lightning in a bottle

To save for another day 

If only 

but days don’t keep 

They evaporate
