In Transit

an oldie but a goodie...

.BEACHES...
Large WNW swells will continue to produce high surf through early next week. The High Surf Advisory has been extended through early Tuesday, and contains surf and hazard details.

IMPACTS...HIGH RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS THAT CAN PULL SWIMMERS OUT TO SEA. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT IS ISSUED WHEN THREATS SUCH AS STRONG RIP CURRENTS...ELEVATED SURF HEIGHTS...MINOR TIDAL OVERFLOW...OR LIGHTNING ARE POSSIBLE AT LOCAL BEACHES.

OBEY POSTED WARNING SIGNS AND FLAGS AND TALK TO A LIFEGUARD BEFORE SWIMMING. USE CAUTION WHEN IN OR NEAR THE WATER AND ALWAYS SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD.

So a new swell is headed our way
but first we wait
the storm that spawned these wave is already gone
the storms energy is in transit
no deposit no return
like light from some distant start that died out
a millennia ago
it's light still headed our way

so we sit and ride the waves of our breath

up the incoming tide of the inhale

a pause at the top

out the outgoing tide of the exhale

waiting for the next swell
in transit
