I notice the patina

of a 10000 cups

I really should wash it

but would that degrade

the delicate balance?

best not to risk it

too much at stake

next I grind

the fine Columbian

(it's the richest kind)

into a perfect dust

and then pack it

like some religious offering

into the funnel

pausing to give each scoop

final instructions

for the mission ahead,

chemically hard wiring

my synapses open

for the rest of the morning
