It's that time of year

summer a bit long in the tooth

the water from the garden hose is hot

the spring and summer grasses have gone to seed

their dry gold stalks waving in the afternoon breeze

The local hurricanes are saving themselves for another season

and with water temperatures still in the 60's 

I can see their point

 

I read the weather maps

toss the I Ching that corresponds to the GOES West satellite

I consult with the cat

sleeping under the stars
