the life and times of Aalder Swales

It's morning

and the light

pushes the marine layer

a thin fog

onto the beaches

and maybe a little bit

further inland

Fall is

doing it's best 

to change things up

without the benefit 

of a trough of low pressure

and a few inches of

falling water

only the light changes

and the traffic moves ahead

Another End of Summer weekend

attenuated 

by the early

start of the school year.

Suddenly the beach

is a place

best

put away

for another year

Everyone is waiting for the weather to change

I'm just waiting for better parking

and swell angles

more complementary

to these suddenly lonely beaches
